During 2025, the Kansas Oral History Project interviewed a number of Kansans whose dedication to public education and work in the field spanned decades from the 1960s into the 21st Century. The interviews were conducted by Mark Tallman, who at the time had recently retired from the Kansas Association of School Boards. During his career with KASB, Mark represented the association before the Kansas Legislature, and worked with school boards across the state on a wide variety of issues. KOHP added to those new interviews a 2020 oral history interview of Dale Dennis, long-time Deputy Commissioner of Education. That interview was conducted by Andy Tompkins. The collection is titled “Leaders in Kansas Education.” The clips included in this post highlight the scope of the collection.
